BBC Worldwide and Underground Toys get together on Doctor Who.

Underground Toys and BBC Worldwide announced a worldwide licensing deal for the manufacture of Doctor Who plush toys in all territories.

The deal covers the current Doctor Who series and also a separate program featuring characters from the Classic series. The enterprise covers several character sizes coming with unique sounds tailored specifically for each model.

Richard Hollis, head of UK Licensing at BBC Worldwide suggested their full confidence in enhancing their existing relationship with Underground Toys whom he referred as "perfect partners" with appropriate experience.

The new deal helps in bringing to life popular television characters as plush toys with high quality sound that is considered to be appealing to most fans and collectors.

The good news is a promised preview of these figures at this week’s London Toy Fair via their UK distributor Gear 4 Games on booth E160 and also on Underground Toys on booth 4933 of New York Toy Fair (13-16 Feb 2011). Underground Toys shall start shipping this new series by June 2011.
