After months of teasing fans and collectors Mc Farlanes Chicago Bears ultimate mini team set has finally been unveiled to an expectant audience.

This set is amongst the first to be released for this new line of figures within the Sports Picks brand.

Since the introduction of the Sports Picks brand these figures have become increasing popular with both collectors and fans.

This popularity is largely due to the excellent talents and abilities of the Mc Farlanes artisrs and sculptors.

The Chicago Bears Team

Currently members of the North Division and have played every home game at the Soldier stadium next to Lake Michigan in Chicago, except for the 2002 season when the stadium was being modified to bring it up to the standards expected by modern fans.

Other than the Arizona Cardinals they are also one of the only charter members of the NFL still in existence.

The A. E. Staley company founded the Chicago Bears in 1919 as a company team in Decatur, Illinois and hired George Halas and Edward "Dutch" Sternaman in 1920 to run it for them.

As such the team was first named the Decatur Staleys.

The team however was fully turned over to George Halas and Edward Sternaman in 1921 when the franchise when it became a charter member of the NFL.

In 1921 Halas and Sternaman purchased the rights to the club from Staley for $100 and then changed the name to the Chicago Staleys when the relocated to Chicago later that year. They have a long standing, and often bitter, rivalry with the Cardinals which was a key point in four of their six league titles. In one famous incident

The team changed it's name from the Staleys to Bears in 1922 when they move to the Wrigley field, home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team.

Despite it's early success the Chicago Bears suffered financial losses in 1932 and Sternaman left the organization leaving Halas with full control of the club.

Halas continued to run the club until his death in 1983 as well as coaching them on and off over a period of forty years.

The Bears have won a total of 9 League Championships, 8 NFL Championships, 4 Conference Championships, 17 Division Championships and 1 Superbowl.

The Chicago Bears have won more Professional Football League championships than any other team except for the Green Bay Packers whom they also have a long stand rivalry with.

This set consists of the eleven players forming the starting formation for the Chicago Bears 2007 football season.

Each figure is approx two inches in height and has the usual high standards of sculpting and painting that is expected from Mc Farlanes.
