The Chicago Bears Team
Originally formed as an expansion team in 1960 after a bitter feud and opposition from the Washington Redskins owner, who strongly fought against their formation, The Dallas Cowboys joined the NFL in 1961. This early confrontation between the two teams began a deeply seated rivalry between them that still exsists to this day.
Based in Dallas Fort Worth their home stadium is currently Irving but they are due to relocate to nearby Arlington in 2009. The Dallas Cowboys are also nicknamed as "America's Team" because of their huge following and popularity outside of Dallas Fort Worth. In fact they hold the NFL record for the most consecutive sold out games. This record was for 160 games which began in 1990 and included 79 straight sellouts at their home stadium and 81 whilst on the road. As well as being one of the NFL's most popular teams they are also, according to an Associated Press article on ESPN, one of the richest teams in North American sports. It is estimated, at the time of writing this, that they are worth a staggering $1.173 billion and an annual income of almost $250 million. The Cowboys are also one of the most successful teams in the NFL's history with a whole list of records and titles to their name.
They hold the record for having won the the most straight seasons ( 20 from 1966-1985), most of them with at least 10 wins. They also have the most Superbowl appearances (8) and were the first team in the NFL's history to win it 3 times in 4 years. They also have had the most appearances in the NFC Championship game with 14 appearances.
