Gears of War 3 is the latest addition to the Gears of War series from Epic games who are known to give quality when it comes to the production of video games. In particular we speak of the Gears of Wars series that have taken video game fads to the next level.

Following the success the company has had with Gears of War 1 and 2, Epic has decided to outshine the first two with its final one in the making, Gears of War 3, that is due to be released on April 5th, 2011. The upcoming game is a third shooter video game just like its previous ones. The Microsoft Games Studios will again be behind the publishing and it will be powered by the X box 360. The video game is still an Alien vs. Humans war game and is suitable for mature persons aged 18 years and over. Gears of Wars 3 is said to cause ripples all over on its release, but just what could be interesting about this new game?

Gears of War 3 Characters

Gears of War 3 features additional characters and what's the surprise?

It's going to be female characters joining the world of deadly combat in Gears of War 3 history!

This will be quite awesome and a breathe of relief from the previously male dominated editions. The video game has been advanced to a four-player co-op mode with Marcus Fenix still the lead player and introducing three female characters; Samantha Byrne, Anya Stroud and Bernadette Mataki, who is a character from the Karen Traviss' Gears of War novels. Another addition to Gears of War 3 is Jace Stratton, a soldier hardened by combat, appears in the comic series and is mentioned in the second edition of the game. The Epic Company has decided to take the excitement of its video game lovers' to a new level by introducing hip hop star Drake as the voice of Jace Stratton, rapper Ice T as the voice of Griffin and Australian actress Claudia Black as the voice of Samantha Byrne.

Gears of War 3 Weapons

The Gears of War 3 weaponry has been pimped up as well; introducing the sawed-off double barreled shotgun. Its not covered in blue lights like the rest of the COG ammo so it could be a gun to be used by the Gears. It is rumored that it will have more power than the Gnasher and will take on an eight shell barrel clip as opposed to the two shot reload. But it won't serve as a replacement for the Gnasher rifle. Another one is the new lancer weapon known as the Pendulum War Era that comes with a normal bayonet as compared to the chainsaw bayonet in the previous games. It gets its name from the gruesome pendulum wars in the previous games. This just says how deadly the weapon will be and when used at closed range the aftermath is unspeakable. Weaponry improvement doesn't stop there.

A new one of a kind grenade is to be featured, the Incendiary Grenade which is a creation of the Coalition of Ordered Governments and the stranded forces in the game. It has a chained handle, like normal grenades, but comes with a flaming wick on its end and explodes upon impact even on contact with walls and ceilings. Looks like this game will have more amazing weapons as another addition is the Digger Launcher; it fires explosive piranha like creatures that dig through the earth at top speed before rising out of the ground again to take down the enemies. And video game lovers will be amazed by the one shot rifle that doesn't recoil and kills instantly on first shot. The Gorgon pistol will also be upgraded to an automatic weapon and will have the name Gorgon SMG. A controllable suit called the Mech will also be included. It will come fully armed with a machine gun and rocket launcher and will be used in particular stages of the game. In action mode the suit will be a machine gun and rocket launcher but when in stationary mode it serves as a heavy shield against enemies. The COG soldiers will be unstoppable with this one. The game will be a multi player just like the previous editions but adds a unique mode called the Beast mode.

This new mode will feature an arena style battle in which a player kills waves of enemies, the amazing part being; you pose as the Locusts and destroy the COGs! What's more? A player can play a whole set of different Locusts: Tickers, Kantus Priests and even Berserkers. Epic is on cloud nine with this one! Beast mode is the opposite of Horde mode. As opposed to the former in this mode you have more than one life in the game. The previous Horde mode will still be retained in the new game as confirmed.

Gears of War 3 game synopsis

The games scene begins 18 months from when Jacinto came to a down fall. Due to the downfall of Jacinto, the Gear soldiers now have their dwelling on a converted aircraft carrier dubbed 'the Raven's nest'. In this era the government has already been dissolved. Sera planet has lost its Imulsion that was holding it together and it's now affecting the Locusts' turning them into mutated subterraneans called the Lambent or the glowies. The lambent now threatens both humanity and its own kind; the locusts.

Epic Games also revealed that its considering the return of Clayton Carmine, brother to Anthony and Benjamin, of the previous two installments. On September 2nd, 2010 Epic will be holding a vote for the Carmine character through the sell of two T-shirts, one reading 'Save Carmine' while the other reads 'Carmine must die'. The fate of the character will be decided by the shirt that sells the most on the Avatar market place. Epic looks like it's going to wow its fans with this one; from its amazing weaponry additions to the cool new characters to join the crew, from its amazing graphics to the use of hip-hop artists to feature as characters in the game. Epic has had major sells with the first two games but this one is bound to sell the most. Just let us see what happens come April the fifth next year.
