Damon Baird is a member of the elite Delta Squad, who are one of mankind's last line of defences against the continuing onslaught of the Locust Horde who are out to destroy mankind!

Damon Baird bears a chip on his shoulder for not being given command of the Delta Squad, but he still shows his honour, loyalty and respect for Marcus throughout the game.

He is an accomplished engineer who has a natural talent for keeping anything mechanical working against all odds.

He is also somewhat of a cynical, sarcastic loner who speaks his mind without a thought for others feelings preferring to stay out of the limelight with his best friends being the machines he works on.

Damon Baird didn't join the army as a career choice but was forced into it by his father who threatened to cut off his inheritance unless he did at least on tour of duty, and so Damon succumbed and agreed to join up.

Fortunately for the Delta Squad he turned out to be an excellent soldier who had many chances to be promoted, but he prefered to stay in a shade and despite his cynical remarks he quickly gained the respect of his comrades comrades Marcus, Dom and Cole.

Baird is always spoiling for a fight with the Locust Horde and and using the Hammer of Dawn to decimate the Locust Hordes intentions.

Damon Baird is a true friend, loyal, honest and 100% reliable, ready to risk his life to help and defend his comrade's safety.

However behind the mask of a cool blooded and emotionless soldier he hides a kind-hearted and generous nature.
