Hellboy 2 Figures

The masters of the 1/6 scale, 12-inch action figure, Hot Toys, have announced that they will be producing Hellboy 2 figures in 2009.

As part of their Movie Masterpiece series Hot Toys will be releasing a 12-inch Hellboy figure and a 12-inch Abe Sapien figure.

Hellboy 2: The Golden Army was one of the most popular movies of 2008 and has spawn a huge market in memorabilia, prop replicas and, of course, collectible action figures.

To date their have been several releases from companies such as Mezco but these will be the first from Hot Toys which many collectors are eagerly looking forward to.

Hot Toys have quickly become popular with collectors for their 1/6 scale figures with their incredible attention to detail, accuracy, astounding articulation and authenticity.

Under Professor Broom's guidance, Hellboy has learned human compassion and a desire to do good while his physical and paranormal abilities coming from his demonic lineage, were polished.

Thus his evil nature is essentially suppressed by his human upbringing and introduction into the human world.

Hellboy is physically stronger and more durable than any ordinary human being; has the strange ability to heal and recover from wounds quickly; and is immune to flame.

He also has the paranormal ability to speak to the dead aside from being able to speak and understand ancient and magical languages.

Best of all, Hellboy sports a customized revolver pistol so big that it would surely make Dirty Harry turn green with envy!

Hot Toys Hellboy 2 Figure

The Hellboy 2 figures stands approx 12-inches in height and has a specially designed muscle figure body with over 28 points of articulation and complete with an occult symbol on his right shoulder.

He also has a bendable tail and flexible fingers on his "Right Hand of Doom".

Dressed in his trademark trenchcoat, leather-like black pants, boots and a utility belt complete with multiple pouches and the B.P.R.D Logo on the belt buckle.

Also no Hellboy 2 figures would be complete without his trusty Big Baby gun or Samaritan.

Both of his weapons featuring amazing detail with removable bullets and the B.P.R.D. logo.

12-inch Abe Sapien Figure

The second Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece figure based on the Hellboy 2 franchise is a 1/6 scale, 12-inch Abe Sapien figure.

Abe is an amphibious humanoid creature with unique psychic abilities.

He has large, bright eyes, webbed feet and hands, and a pair of gills on his neck which allows him to breathe underwater.

With a passive yet somehow sarcastic personality, Abe is naturally peaceful and contemplates on his actions unlike his partner Hellboy who would rather beat the heck out of the opposition before asking for questions or information.

The Abe Sapien figure also utilizes one of the Hot Toys muscle figure bodies with approx 25 points of articulation and he also features "bendable arms".

And of course it wouldn't be Abe Sapien without his trademarked wetsuit with its B.P.R.D. logo, his breathing apparatus and goggles.

The Abe Sapien figure also has interchangeable webbed hands, one for holding his pistol.

As with all Hot Toy figures both of these come with a Hot Toys figure stand that features the Hellboy 2 logo on its base.
