how should i store my action figures?

i have a huge action figure and hot wheels collection, they were passed down from my father so i am not quite sure how to store them until i move into my own house. i am also wondering if moving them into different climate changes will mess the glue on the boxes up. if anyone can help or point me in the right direction it will be greatly appreciated.

I'm glad you asked this because so many people neglect their figures and as a result the quality deteriorates and thus so does their value.
