Kenner Indiana Jones Figures Series 1

The initial release of the Kenner Indiana Jones figures didn't arrive until late 1982, over a year after the release of the first movie.

These four 3.75" carded Indiana Jones figures included Indiana Jones, Marion Ravenwood, Toht, and the Cairo Swordsman, giving kids had 2 heroes and 2 villains to play against each and reenacting scenes from the movie: Raiders of the Lost Ark.

These first four Kenner Indiana Jones figures also appeared with a send-away offer on the reverse for the Belloq in Ceremonial Robe figure.

The first series of Kenner Indiana Jones Figures also came with 2 playsets: the Well of Souls and the Map Room.

Kenner Indiana Jones figure

The Indiana Jones figure has 7 points of articulation: neck, 2 shoulders, 2 hips, and 2 knees and a quick draw figure.

Accessories: a revolver and whip.

Marion Ravenwood Figure

The Marion figure mint carded condition is one of the Holy Grails of the Idiana Jones line of figures simply because it had a short production run as Kenner believed that she would not be a popular figure.

The Marion figure only has 5 points of articulation: neck, 2 shoulders, and 2 hips. However she was the only figure in the series that had no knee joints because she had a fabric dress instead.

Accessories: a removable fabric dress, a monkey and a clear plastic stand.

Toht Figure

His name is never spoken in Raiders of the Lost Ark, but it's the presence of the nazi psycho that many fans remember as one of the film's highlights.

The Kenner Toht action figure is probably the most commonly found carded figure from this series and as a result is also the least expensive.

It has 7 points of articulation: the neck, 2 shoulders, 2 hips, and 2 knees.

Accessories: a removable vinyl trench coat and a small pistol (different from the one included with the Indiana Jones figure). One of the nice details added to this figure is the medallion symbol "burned" into his right hand.

Cairo Swordsman Figure

Like the Toht figure The Swordsman is one of the more common figures available and also had 7 points of articulation: neck, 2 shoulders, 2 hips, and 2 knees.

Accessories: a removable snap-around robe, one sword, and one knife.

The knife is exactly the same as the one included with the Monkey Man figure in the Streets of Cairo playset.

Belloq in Ceremonial Robe Figure

This figure was originally a mail-away offer until the second release in 1983.

7 points of articulation: neck, 2 shoulders, 2 hips, and 2 knees.

Accessories: a removable robe, a removable jeweled breastplate, and one staff.

Kenner - Series 1: Playsets Released in late 1982.

In 1982 two Kenner Indiana Jones playsets were also released along with the first series of Indiana Jones figures. Each of the playsets came in a rectangular box with identical font and backs.

They came packaged in a plastic bag unassembled with the 2-piece breakaway wall separate. These playsets are popular among collectors due to the quality and quantity of accessories that was included.
