McFarlanes NBA Series 14 Are You Ready ?As both players and fans get hyped up for the start of the new basketball season McFarlane Toys are gearing up their new line of NBA Basketball Sports Picks action figures. This series will feature four new players in their McFarlane Sports Picks debut and two veteran players in two new poses. The players:
Due March, 2008
In 2007, after years of successive playoff misses and frustration over the team’s incapacity to build a better team around him, Garnett was traded to the Boston Celtics in a 7 for 1 deal that constitutes the largest number of players traded for a single player in NBA history. Now wearing jersey #5, Garnett has teamed up with Paul Pierce and the sweet shooting Ray Allen to form the celebrated Celtics “Big Three” and has transformed the previously cellar dweller Celtics into instant title contenders. Known for his defensive intensity, Garnett has changed the face of the Boston franchise and the team has suddenly become feared for its stifling defense, due in large part to Garnett who has made the All-NBA Defensive Team nine times over his career and was recently named Defensive Player of the Year for 2008. With career averages of: 20.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.7 blocks per game, Kevin Garnett is truly one of the NBA’s elite players and his impressive resumé speaks for itself.

![]() ![]() ![]() Tayshaun Prince's stellar play was rewarded when he was signed to a 5-year, $49 million contract extension prior to starting the 2005-06 season. It was well worth it considering he has great durability comparable to The Iron Man and he never misses a game. As reliable as ever, Prince played and started in all 82 games and again helped his team reach the Eastern Conference Finals where they were defeated by eventual champion Miami Heat. The following season (2006-07) it was Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers who showed them the door in six games. Prince is considered as one of the NBA’s elite defenders. His defensive prowess and penchant for making timely defensive plays was on display yet again during the 2008 Detroit-Orlando 2nd round playoff series when he blocked a dunk attempt by Hedo Turkoglu (reminiscent of the Reggie Miller play in 2004) which helped his team preserve the lead and eliminate the Orlando Magic. Great defense, discipline and a champion’s heart has proven that Tayshaun Prince is indeed a key factor in the Pistons’ lineup, and in helping the franchise reach its streak of six consecutive trips to the Eastern Conference Finals. Figure Stats Airborne figures measures 8 3/8 at top of head, 9¼ inches at top of raised ball. Articulated at thighs. Includes 4-inch by 6-inch custom base with Phoenix Suns logo.
![]() ![]() ![]() Greg Oden was born on 22nd Januay 1988, and went to Lawrence North high school in Indianapolis, Indiana. Oden spent his early years in his hometown, Indianapolis and was interested in basketball from an early age. As a youngster Oden was the tallest of all the boys in his class and this gave him the confidence to excel in basketball and aspire to part of the National Basketball Association. At the age of about 15 he managed to score 26 points and 12 rebounds in a Saturday session. In 2005 and 2006 he was awarded the Parade High School Player of the Year Award and in the same year he was also voted Gatorade National Player. In 2006 he was also awarded the Naismith Prep Player of the Year and McDonald's All-American player. After he finished High School he went to college in Ohio State and was later drafted as 1st pick by the Portland Trail Blazers, commonly referred to as the Blazers, in the 2007 NBA Entry Drafts. He plays as a Center and since joining the Blazers has gained several nicknames including G.O., BIG Man and Manchild. He is often referred to by his nicknames on the T.V. shows and Ehud Seghav, in a famous T.V. show on the NBA, often calls him Big Man. Oden is seven feet tall and weighs 257 pounds, i.e.117 kilograms. In 2007 the Blazers were awarded the AP All-American 1st Team and on March 6, 2007 Oden was named First conference's Defensive Player of the Year. Other notable achievements also came in 2007 when he was recognized for his off the court humanitarian efforts. Steve Nash simply illustrates a model athlete both on and off the court. For his exemplary humanitarian and charity works and with his achievements on the hardwood, he is truly one of the NBA’s cream of the crop. Figure Stats Airborne figures measures 8 3/8 at top of head, 9¼ inches at top of raised ball. Articulated at thighs. Includes 4-inch by 6-inch custom base with Phoenix Suns logo.
![]() ![]() ![]() In October 2007, during a pre-season exposition match against the LA Lakers and while trying to protect Luke Walton, Morrison severely injured his left knee and had to have surgery to repair the damage. It took several months of physical therapy for the knee to heal and fully recover. As a result of this he missed the whole 2007/08 NBA season which proved to be a major breakdown for both the Bobcats and him but they are expecting him to be healthy again some time in 2008. He also has had the added complications of diabetes and some heart problems. However Morrison has said that these aren’t a major issue as the diabetes can be recovered if he continues playing. Figure Stats Airborne figure measures 9¼ inches at top of head, 9 7/8 inches at top of raised ball. Articulated at thighs. Includes 4-inch by 6-inch custom base with Charlotte Bobcats logo.

His average of 21ppg and 10rpg on 54%FG shooting gave him recognition as one of the top five in the league in those categories. He earned his second All-Star berth as a reserve and showed a double-double effort with 14 points and 10 rebounds in less than 20 minutes of playing time. Boozer was also named to the All-NBA Third Team for the first time in his career. He once again helped his team make the playoffs, advancing to the second round before losing in six games to the best team in the western conference, the Los Angeles Lakers.
