HELPING YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR FIGURE(S)!
McFarlane NFL Wave 3 Figures : By The Fans For The FansMcFarlane NFL Figure Wave 3 is the first time since 2004 McFarlane have released three series of NFL Sports Picks action figures for a single season. Back then though all three releases came close together whereas this season McFarlane has paced them out with Wave 3, Series 19, not being release until late December. This should give collectors and fans something to look forward to towards the end of the season. NFL Wave 3, 2008 will feature:
Fans of the Denver Broncos know all too well about their super-system for NFL running backs. So many hard-nosed, talented running backs have come out of Denver, it's a mystery why the Broncos haven't won more games since Elway retired. One of these great backs is Clinton Portis. Drafted with the 52nd pick in 2002, Portis quickly found a home - and then lost is just as abruptly. He was traded over to the Washington Redskins where he's been impacting the struggling team for a few years now. And though 2007 wasn't Portis' best year by any stretch of the imagination, it was still a very solid performance from a fantastic football player. Portis has been opposed to pre-season play since he was hurt 2 years ago. So the Redskins took it easy on him and tried to rest the injury-prone Portis until the start of the 07 season. Once the season was underway, Portis had average performances in back to back wins against the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles. With a bad shoulder, a bum knee, and many other reported ailments, Portis' carries were diminished for most of the 2007 season. But when he had a chance to contribute, he came up as solid as ever. The Redskins played smash-mouth football and finished with a record of 9-7. They were the third team from the NFC East to make the playoffs (Cowboys, Giants). Portis took 20 handoffs in the wildcard game against the Seattle Seahawks, which is only the 8th time all year he's taken 20 or more. His insignificant 2.6 yards a carry added up to 52 total yards, and didn't much help the Redskins, as they lost the game 35-14. Clinton Portis is one of the top 8 running backs in the league when he's 100%. And with any luck, the 2008 season will smile on his weary bones. 2007 Season Stats

When it's all said and done and Brett Favre finally retires, the wide receivers that caught his passes game after game will finally be given the credit they deserve. When you're playing in sub zero temperatures and someone's throwing a 100mph heavy, frozen piece of pigskin at you, it can hurt a little. Favre also had the bad habit of leading his guys into a high-traffic area of the field, where they would catch the ball, then immediately catch a hit. But you never heard Donald Driver complain on the field. He showed up, did his job, and helped the Packers to their amazing 13-3 record in the 2007 season. Donald Driver started out the season with 6 catches in a 16-13 win against the Philadelphia Eagles. Little did he know, but the Packers came together in that nail-biter of a game and would start playing as a cohesive unit throughout the year. The very next week, Driver caught 8 balls for 73 yards and a touchdown in the Packs 35-13 blowout win over the Giants. Against San Diego the next week, Diver went for 126 yards and another touchdown on 6 catches. Driver's best game of the year came at Detroit, where he caught 10 balls for 147 yards on the Lions. During the December 16 matchup featuring the Packers and the St. Louis Rams, Diver caught a short pass from Favre which broke Dan Marino's all-time record of 61,361 career passing yards. Driver also exploded in the NFC championship game with 141 yards and a touchdown on only 5 receptions. The Packers went on to lose the game in overtime, 23-20 2007 Season Stats

After Elway parted ways with the Denver Broncos, they had a rag-tag blend of mediocre quarterbacks to fill the void. Unfortunately for the Broncos, it was like using your finger to plug a leaking dam. Eventually, the water broke loose and Brian Griese and Jake Plummer were exposed for the average players they were. In the AFC, even good becomes average when you play alongside Palmer, Roethlisberger, Manning, Rivers, and Brady. The Broncos passed on Matt Leinart in the 2006 NFL Draft, and went with the strong-armed, Elway-esque QB out of Vanderbilt, Jay Cutler. Like most rookie quarterbacks, Cutler's transition was slow, only being used when opportunity presented itself. But in 2007, Cutler got his chance to take the team over. Cutler has shown some real promise. His arm strength is comparable to Elway's, and his field vision and football knowledge is years ahead of a 2nd year player. Cutler and the Broncos' first game against the Buffalo Bills was a success. Going 23 for 39 with 304 yards and a touchdown, Cutler led the Broncos to a stunning 15-14 win. The very next week, another stunner went Cutler's way as he led his team down the field in overtime against the Raiders for a game-winning field goal. Cutler would go on to have a few more shining moments in his first official year as the Broncos headliner. He had a 137.0 QB rating in a win over the Tennessee Titans. And in a 41-7 blowout over the Kansas City Chiefs, Cutler went 20 for 27 with 4 touchdowns. Except for the disappointing record of 7-9, the Broncos couldn,t ask for a much better performance from their young quarterback. 2007 was a milestone year for the franchise. They found out exactly what Cutler was made of, and they like what he brings to their organization. 2007 Season Stats

Not every team in the NFL has a star running back. If you're lucky enough to get your hands on an Adrian Peterson, Tomlinson, Parker, Westbrook, or Taylor, then more power to you. But for some teams, the two-headed monster approach is a tried and true way to systematically march a team down the field. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had it with Warrick Dunn and Mike Alstott the year they won the Super Bowl. And in 2007, the Dallas Cowboys used two talented players and shared the snaps, bringing a great result. Marion Barber, arguably the better of the two (Julius Jones), had a fantastic year in 2007. With his explosive style of downhill running, Tony Romo and company got a much-needed break from the constant downfield passing. For Barber, the year couldn't have started any better. With limited time on the field, Barber had rushed for over 320 yards in the first 5 games of the season, which were all wins. Though he wasn't putting up the huge numbers like Adrian Peterson over in Minnesota, Barber was still lending a consistent performance that helped to make the team a legitimate contender. After a 48-27 loss against New England, where Barber only picked up 49 rushing yards, he had another series of solid games, rushing for almost 450 yards during the Cowboys 7-game win streak. Barbers worst game of the year came against the Washington Redskins in week 17. The Cowboys, already having the number-one seed clinched in the NFC, put Barber in behind a lackluster line that had nothing left to play for. Barber was crushed by a determined Redskins team, losing 6 yards on 6 attempts. Though the New York Giants would beat the Cowboys in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs, Barber still had one of his best games of the season. Rushing for 129 yards on 27 attempts, Barber helped keep the ball away from Eli Manning and the potent Giants offense, keeping the game close until the Giants finally prevailed 21-17. At the end of the '07 season, Julius Jones was shipped over to Seattle, leaving Barber to be the next full-time superstar in the 2008 season. 2007 Season Stats

Brett recently sent shockwaves rippling through the NFL with news that he was moving to New York. The Green Bay Packers legendary QB is set to make a new start but he is by no means the first to make such a move. In the NFL's 42 Superbowls 27 different QB's have led there teams to victory with 11 of them finishing there careers with a different team. However, I'm sure this is no consolation to Packer fans who are devastated by the loss of Brett. What will this mean for Brett and New York? We await the new season with anticipation...
