Jarome Iginla
Born on July 1, 1977 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada was selected in the first round, 11th overall, of 1995 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars but was then traded to the Calgary Flames where he is currently the Captain.
Jarome's parents seperated whilst he was still a babby and he was raised by his mother and grandparents in Edmonton.
He was an accomplished baseball player before he took up ice hockey and played as a catcher on the Canadian National Jnr team but he also played in the St Albert Minor Hockey Association.
He has gained a reputation as a power forward and has also proved that he is skillful at setting up his team-mates with chances at scoring.
His wrist shot is one of the most powerful in the NHL and his power and skill allows him to work his way around most defenders.
Jarome also has a mean streak and is not easily intimidated on the rink and isn't afraid to play in high traffic areas.
His skills, abilities, power and leadership have helped Calgary come within one game of a Stanley Cup win and he has won many awards and trophies as well as representing Canada twice in the Winter Olympics and in three World Championships

Roberto Luongo 2
Roberto Luongo was born on April 4 1979 in Montreal, Canada and has already made a large impression in the short time he has played professionally.
Roberto Luongo began his hockey career at the age of 18 when he joined the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Val-d'Or Foreurs for the 94/95 season. The following year he notched 31 wins which was a club record. The following year he achieved another club record of 8 shutouts in a regular single season bringing them the Memorial Cup finals.

Jason Spezza
Born on June 13, 1983 in Mississauga, Ontarion Jason Anthony Rocco Spezza is a centerman for the Ontario Senators and is best known for his remarkable speed on the ice.
Spezza started playing in the Ontario Hockey League at the age of 15 and he earned a place in Canada's World Junior Hockey Championship team at the age of 16 and he has several Junior All-Star team titles to his name.
In 2001 he was one of the hottest prospects in the 2001 entry draft and was selected second overall by the Senators.
His first season was split between playing with Ottawa and their farm team the Bringhampton Senators and after playing an excellent season he secured himself a place in the NHL and by 2005-06 season he had reached the 90 point mark.
He has since become a firm fan favorite and he has been involved in many community programs including "Spelling with Spezza".

Bryan McCabe
Born on Jun 8, 1975 in St Catherines, Ontario, Canada and is currently a defenceman with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL.
He was selected in the second round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft and 40th overall by the New York Islanders.
He played with the Islanders for three seasons before being traded to the Vancouver Canucks in 1998, but he only stayed with the Canucks for two seasons before briefly playing for the Chicago Blackhawks for a season before finally settling with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2000 where he has played ever since.

Martin Brodeur
Born on May 6, 1972 in Montreal, Quebec Martin has played for the New Jersey Devils since they selected him 20th overall in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft in 1990.
Martin has followed in his father's footsteps, who was also an accomplished and respected goalie who represented Canada in the 1956 Winter Olympics.
He married Melanie Dubois in 1995 and they have four children, three sons (including twin sons who were born in 1996) and a daughter but Martin filed for divorce in 2003 when it was revealed he was having an affair with his sister-in-law.
During his time with the New Jersy Devils he has helped them to three Stanley Cup Championships and currently holds about thirty franchise records.
He is considered to be one of the NHL's most consistent and reliable goal-tenders and is the only goalie in NHL history, to date, to have achieved six 40 win seasons.
He has won many trophies and awards whilst with the New Jersey Devils including the Jennings Trophy four times and the Vezina Trophy three times and has represented Canada in three Winter Olympics and three World Championships.

Saku Koivu
Born on November 23, 1974 in Turku, Finlan Saks was drafted 21st overall in the first round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens but he remained with TPS in the Finnish SM-liiga until the end of the 1994-95 season and then moved to North America for the 1995-96 season.
Before his move to North America and joining the NHL Saks was elected Player of the Year by his team-mates and helped his team win two Championships.
Saks was named the Canadiens Captain on 30 September, 1999 ending a supposed curse of Habs captains that had seen six captains traded away in a ten year span from 1989-1999.
In 2001 he suffered a major setback when he was diagnosed as having Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and missed most of the season. However he made a miraculous recovery and was able to return in time for the play offs.
Due to his courage and leadership whilst undergoing cancer treatment he was awarded the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy follow the 2002 play-offs. During his tenure with the Canadiens he has won several awards and trophies both for the Montreal Canadiens and at an International level for Finland.
