His real name is Victor Creed and as a child he suffered terribly at the hands of his father who was disgusted by his mutant nature. Later, as an adult he took the name Sabretooth and by the 1910's he had terrorized and intimidated everyone in a small Canadian frontier town, with the exception of a young man called Logan. Infuriated by Logan's lack of fear and burning with jealousy over Logan's girlfriend Silver Fox, he assualts her and a viscious fight erupts between them In the 60's Sabretooth and Wolverine ( Logan) both became victims of the Cold War super-soldier program Weapon X. It was whilst working on the Weapon X program that he was reunited with Logan, who had become Wolverine, and Silver Fox but because of the false memories planted in them from the Psi-Borg they were unaware of their earlier encounter. Sabretooth saw Wolverine as competition and tried to make his life miserable. Sabretooth and Wolverine although alike in their “mutations” are complete opposites in every other aspect. Whereas Wolverine tries to suppress his inner demons, Sabretooth embraces them almost with relish and pleasure.d the beast within. After Team X was disbanded Sabretooth decided to go his own way and became a hired assassin, a bloodthirsty sociopath who has murdered numerous people both to fulfill his animalistic urges and as a mercenary. With his psychotic bloodlust and violent tendencies Sabretooth became more animal-like and feral and he soon gained notoriety across Europe. Sabretooth is an arch-enemy of the X-Men’s Wolverine. Many of Sabretooth's physical abilities function with superhuman levels of efficiency. He possesses some degree of superhuman strength, the limits of which are unknown. Originally, he possessed sufficient physical strength to crush an iron barbell, with ease but he has undergone various procedures, some willingly and some unwillingly, that have increased his strength considerably beyond their original levels. His mutant healing factor grants him much greater immunity to the lactic acids generated by his muscles during physical activity than the musculature of an ordinary human. Hence, Sabretooth possesses superhuman stamina in all physical activities. His natural agility and reflexes have been enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural limits of the human body and his agility and reaction time are superior to those of the finest human athlete. 8 On one mission, the psychopathic Sabretooth kills a crucial scientist during a battle against Russian super soldier Omega Red. He frequently targets and kills civilians during other fights involving the loose knit team. During this period he fathers a son, Graydon Creed, with the mutant shape shifter Mystique, who is undercover in the guise of a spy named Leni Zauber. It is often inaccurately assumed by readers that because Sabretooth and Wolverine both have a superhuman regenerative healing factor and superhuman senses that the two are exactly the same in all other respects. In fact, Sabretooth is much stronger than Wolverine, but is not as intelligent or as skilled in the martial arts and so the two are about evenly matched.
