Why Is The Toys McCoy Indiana Jones Figure So Valuable?

In 1999 a Japanese company called Toys McCoy released a very limited 1/6 scale 12-inch Toys McCoy Indiana Jones Figure which is considered to be one of the rarest figures to be produced and has been known to fetch in excess of $1,000, sealed in its original box, on eBay!!

There were only 3000 Toys McCoy Indiana Jones Figures produced - each numbered and with a Certificate of Authenticity.

The head sculpt on this figure is excellent, this is Harrison Ford! Even the little scar underneath his lips is there.

Whether Toys McCoy decided to save money on the body sculpt or were short of time to produce these figures instead of molding their own they used a Classic Collection Hasbro GI Joe body, except for the two sets of interchangeable hands.

The Toys McCoy Indiana Jones Figure clothes are very well made with plenty of detail including a top button that actually buttons up, a real leather strap on his satchel, a leather jacket complete with lining, pockets and a functional zip!

Indy comes with a stack of accessories including 2 pairs of hands but they are a real pain to get on. The manual recommends putting the hands in warm water, and it seems to be about the only way to switch them!

As well as the classy and highly detailed Indiana Jones figure Toys McCoy also released a 1/6 scale Arabian Horse which was limited to only 1,000.

The Arabian horse is based on the white horse that Indy rode in Raiders of the Lost Ark. The horse is also in scale to the Indy figure so he can easily be posed alongside it or sitting astride it.
