Transformers Cyberton Figures (Hasbro) 2005The Legends line began life as the Legends of Cybertron, a sub-line of the Transformers Cyberton Figures. It is made up of smaller, less detailed versions of the larger toys and was released in waves of 4 figures at a time.
The Legends of Cybertron figures followed the same pattern as the Heroes of Cybertron with a few changes, the Legends toys transformed and were articulated, whereas the Heroes figures were solid statues, also the Legends figures were Transformers: Cybertron characters, whereas the Heroes figures were Generation One Transformers characters. Although referred to as "Legends of Cybertron" by Hasbro, the packaging simply says Transformers: Cybertron on it and the toys are described as "Micro" class.
Transformers Cybertron Figures - 2006The Transformers Cyberton Figures, known in Japan originally as Transformers: Galaxy Force were released in 2005-2006. The series aired in Japan as a separate rebooted Transformers series, although in America, it was marketed as a sequel to the previous series, Transformers: Armada and Transformers: Energon. This was done by adding some additional dialogue and re-using a number of screens to link elements of the Armada and Energon series to the show. In the anime, all of the Transformers are computer-generated, while the human beings and backgrounds are rendered in traditional cel animation. With a complex storyline of intrigue and surprise OPTIMUS PRIME and the AUTOBOTS face their greatest danger ever, a menace that not only threatens the survival of the TRANSFORMERS, but the very existence of their home, CYBERTRON, and the universe itself.
In Transformers: Armada and Energon the dark power of Unicron was defeated and an anomaly in space was revealed - a massive and destructive Black Hole! As Optimus Prime gathers the Autobots together to seek refuge on Earth , a mysterious Autobots named Vector Prime arrives from outside of the time-space continuum and warns of the impending destruction that the Black Hole will create if the Autobots do not join together to find the 4 lost Cyber Planet Keys that will awaken Primus the Creator! Each of the Transformers Cybertron figures came with a Cyber Planet Key which unlocked a special power-up feature such as flip-out cannons or swords, or launching missiles and super-charged engine boosters.
